~ Introducing designing from my home, while it's all about your home ~

Sure, I have designed from a distance before. There are often phone conversations, photos exchanged and zoom appointments before a design is complete. But exclusively from a distance? Why not? Let's continue to make the best use of our time at home.

My design from afar started on a train from Vienna to Bratislava, Slovakia to meet my 2nd cousins for the first time. Days before I left, I received an urgent phone call from a new design client in desperate need of color selections. Her painters were due in 3 days and her newly renovated home needed lots of color on the walls. How could I pass up a chance to design across the paint pallet? So Fun!

So along with summer dresses, I filled my suitcase with color swatches. Swatches that would be left along the journey as I narrowed choices and picked up souvenirs. Stepping off the train, I was eager to meet my 2nd cousin but to also find an internet cafe (do they still have these?) to share my room by room directions with the client.

Does she still have the colors I chose? Yes, she does! And she even reminds me how much she loves them and of my across the globe efforts, each time our paths cross. This jump started my confidence to take on designing from afar, whether out of state, country or just due to conflicting schedules.
